Sometimes I think about how the way I met my wife was like a fanfiction

We both had a scholarship to a college soccer team and were the only two competing for center forward, we hit it off instantly and became close friends right away. When our team went to nationals, we had to share a bed and ended up snuggling (and I was, up until that point, absolutely not a physically affectionate person). After we returned home I kept sneaking into her room because I couldn’t sleep without her. Our friends started accusing us of being together and talking crap so, to spite them, we thought it would be a good idea to fake date and sometimes held hands and stuff. We ended up kissing right before she left the country for almost a month and we basically pretended it never happened, and when she came back it happened again and again and then escalated. Cue these lines, verbatin:

Me: *grabs the hand heading between my legs* “Wait, wait.” *sighs, drops forehead to hers* “We’re idiots.”

Her, breathlessly, eyes on my lips: “I’ve always been an idiot.” *swoops in for another kiss*

We ended up taking and decide to be friends with benefits, but JUST kissing benefits, no sex, and then 5 minutes later we had sex. We sleep together for a couple weeks (all the time, any and everywhere) before deciding to make it official, then after another couple weeks say I love you (initially via her closing her eyes and moving her palm from her heart to mine back and forth like a useless lesbian), then about a month later talk about how we wanna get married.

Fast forward a year and we go to university together and we’re roommates. Fast forward four years and we’re married and eloping to Harry Potter World and the beach. Fast forward almost 7 years from when we met and we’re living in the same hometown we first met in and she’s the assistant coach for the team we used to play for. Sex life better than ever (“that much great sex all the time after years together in fics is unrealistic” my ass), I can’t cook for shit but I try, we ride bikes around town and we’re basically the only gays in the village and there’s a little rainbow statue on the outside of our windowsill.

7 years ago I was so in love with her I could barely breathe, and I love her a thousand times more now than I did then.

Best love story ever.

Netsuzou Trap Manga to Anime Adaptation Opinion

(This is the only time I’m saying this !!!SPOILER ALERTS AHEAD!!!)
I’ll start by saying I honestly really wanted to like the anime, but I just can’t overlook how flawed it is. So far from episode 1-6 I already see a lot of problems with it. I’ll start with a couple pros I have, but compared to the cons they are fairly limited.

Pros:
-They stuck to the story.
So far every scene is something you can find right from the manga.
-Good details in the art/color design.
I’m not referring to all of the art as a whole, in fact I’m mostly just impressed with the lips, they are simple and well done. Good mouths are important in an anime that is meant to have a shit ton of kissing.

I’m pretty much going to make a negative point system for the cons. Simpler problems will only receive a -5, but they can increase up to -10, -15, and so on based off importance. Or at least what I deem important. Keep in mind this is all opinion, and I still like the story.

Cons:
-20 Bad pacing & 9 minute episodes.
Starting with what I see as one of the main major flaws with the anime. One of the best aspects of reading a manga is that you can set the pace and I know that can’t be helped with anime adaptations. It’s just that this anime in particular has bad pacing written all over it because of how much they limited themselves by making it 9 minute episodes.
I’m not against short animes at all, but this story still deserves more time put into each scene. It’s literally making each chapter into individual episodes and it feels like being trapped inside the mind of a speed reader looking through each page of the manga. It’s at a constant fast forward just to follow each scene as it’s seen in the manga. It’s like it was made for people with the attention span of a three year old. Every scene loses it’s depth and passion.
-5 Character flaws.
Okay this one may just be a problem I have with it. I just don’t like how the characters are done in this. It’s like they just cut and pasted specific qualities about them from the manga… which isn’t terrible, but that’s not my main concern. It’s that they sugar coated all of those pieces with a shit ton of moe.
I’m NOT saying moe is bad, moe can be wonderful, just not for our gay girls. Let’s be real here I don’t like hearing a 2nd year high schooler with size E-cup breasts sound like a 12 year old when we very clearly know what she’s doing with her boyfriend and our main girl’s vagina and breasts. It’s a smutty, mature Yuri, not a god damn slice of life moe anime like Lucky Star (Love that anime, but still you get my point). I know they can be cutesy at times, but not every time they interact with each other. How can I trust it to match future intense moments like the ones past chapter 17, when they make the first 6 feel childish.
-10 Censorship.
I know it’s an anime that’s probably trying to get a broader audience by keeping it clean. But it’s a Yuri, a mature Yuri. Why censor the boobs with smoke? We are going to be seeing them a lot more than just that once, so why cover them up? At least be clever with the censoring. Want to hide the nipples? Then use the other girl’s hands. I mean for real, she grops her in every other scene, why not just do it in that one too and save yourself one of the worst kinds of censoring. Not to mention that all of that extra fog, made the details a lot worse in my opinion, especially on the legs.
-10 Deleted Scenes.
I know I already brought up how it limited itself and tried to follow the story, but if you are literally going to do each scene almost word for word, then don’t skip whole scenes. The smutty scenes are just as important to this story as all of the other scenes, so don't think it would go unnoticed to just cut an intire scene from this already short story. You can’t go out of your way to cross all of your T’s then draw an upside-down L and try to pass it off as another T. It’s kinda easily noticeable if you were paying attention when you read the manga first. It literally made me do a double take when I realized they skipped it intirely. Most anime strive to fill each episode with a lot of unneeded ecchi stuff, so why is it this story that’s supposed to have sex as one of the most important topics in it, just skipping over these moments like they are pointless?
Plus I know you want to do everything in chronological order, but you take away a lot of the surprise when you literally show the guy walking past them kissing in the snow. Maybe if someone didn’t make the episodes so short then you could’ve actually had time for surprises.

I’m trying not to get too nitpicky, but this anime was supposed to stand for something by becoming an anime. Yuri doesn’t often get put in the spotlight. You’re more likely to stumble into a dozen yaois with almost nothing censored.
This adaptation was a big opportunity to shine a needed light on a smaller genre. It was a hope for fans to see it turn into it’s deserved potential. I and probably some others wanted more from this. I wanted it to walk on that thin line and test the world’s reaction to it. I didn’t want it to cower away and hide it’s true skin, it’s original design.

(-45 Points for this Adaptation of episodes 1-6. So far I’d give it a 4/10.
If it just slowed the pacing, even just by 10 seconds extra in each scene, and owned it’s mature genre like it should have from the start, then it would have been a lot better.)

These are just things that I noticed and that bothered me. Let me hear your opinions, I’m always interested in hearing other people’s perspectives on stuff like this. Sorry if I offended anyone, I just wanted to put my voice out there.
